Travel to Pello by train during the winter tourist season. The railway station is located in the centre of Pello. Ask about timetables and tickets online www.vr.fi or by calling state-owned railway company VR (tel. +358 600 41 900).

There are excellent roads leading to Pello. Highway 21 travels through the Pello village and the border crossing point in Sweden is in the centre of Pello. The distance from Pello to Rovaniemi is around 100 kilometres. Using the highway, the distance to Ylitornio is 55 kilometres and Tornio around 120 kilometres. The distance from the centre of Pello to Övertorneå on the Swedish side of the border is approximately 52 kilometres and to Pajala around 61 kilometres.
